Chime Dolkar.

After finishing her compulsory education in 2005, Chime returned to her village to live with her parents. She is now providing for the needs of her family, earning a living through work as a guide.

Tsewang Norbu.


Tsewang finished his compulsory education in 2006. Soon thereafter, he returned to his village to work as a teacher. He got married, but after spending a year working, he realized that additional education would provide more opportunity and a better salary in the future. He thus returned to Kathmandu and did a two-year program at secondary school.

Pasang Tsering Sherpa.

Pasang obtained his compulsory education certificate in 2008 and is currently studying at secondary school. He lives in Bodnath with his parents.

Sangye Dolma.

Sangye took all the classes for the compulsory education program, but didn’t pass the final exams. She moved to the United States to join her father, who had migrated there earlier on. Her entire family is now living in New York and they are American citizens.
